Two things I absolutely do not look forward to in my daily routine:
- Blow drying my hair (although this is usually every other day now which helps)
- Taking my makeup off at night
I realize the simple remedy could be to quit blow drying my hair and to quit wearing makeup, but that’s just not something that is going to happen because I do enjoy being girly sometimes!
So I figure, how about making at least one of these tasks more enjoyable or at least more bearable? Andi introduced me to a great makeup remover pad recipe and I am hooked. It’s super simple to make and quicker than going to the store to buy!
What you will need:
- 8 ounce mason jar (or two 4-ounce mason jars)
- 25-30 cotton rounds
- 1/4 cup distilled water
- 1/2 tsp castile soap (I use unscented but you can also use rose)
- 2 Tbsp witch hazel
- 1 drop vitamin E oil (optional)
- 4 drops lavender
- 4 drops tea tree oil aka Melaleuca oil
- 2 drops frankincense
- 1 drop rose oil (optional–I don’t have this one yet!)
Directions:
- Place half of the cotton rounds into the jar.
- In a small bowl, mix the remaining ingredients together.
- Pour half of the mixture over the cotton rounds.
- Add the rest of the cotton rounds to the jar.
- Pour the remaining mixture over the cotton rounds.
Botta-bing, botta-boom. Done. These can be used on your whole face and are soooo refreshing! Have fun making these yourself!
