Quick Homemade Makeup Remover Pads

Two things I absolutely do not look forward to in my daily routine:

1. Blow drying my hair (although this is usually every other day now which helps)
2. Taking my makeup off at night

I realize the simple remedy could be to quit blow drying my hair and to quit wearing makeup, but that’s just not something that is going to happen because I do enjoy being girly sometimes!

So I figure, how about making at least one of these tasks more enjoyable or at least more bearable? Andi introduced me to a great makeup remover pad recipe and I am hooked.  It’s super simple to make and quicker than going to the store to buy!

What you will need:

• 8 ounce mason jar (or two 4-ounce mason jars)
• 25-30 cotton rounds
• 1/4 cup distilled water
• 1/2 tsp castile soap (I use unscented but you can also use rose)
• 2 Tbsp witch hazel
• 1 drop vitamin E oil (optional)
• 4 drops lavender
• 4 drops tea tree oil aka Melaleuca oil
• 2 drops frankincense
• 1 drop rose oil (optional–I don’t have this one yet!)

Directions:

1. Place half of the cotton rounds into the jar.
2. In a small bowl, mix the remaining ingredients together.
3. Pour half of the mixture over the cotton rounds.
4. Add the rest of the cotton rounds to the jar.
5. Pour the remaining mixture over the cotton rounds.

Botta-bing, botta-boom. Done. These can be used on your whole face and are soooo refreshing! Have fun making these yourself!

Hello, it’s The Spa Geek here!  If you follow me, you already know that I am all about skin care.  Take my advice and work this into your skin care routine. Cleaning the face on a daily basis is a really useful routine that provides a clean and healthy complexion.  Make your own natural cream that can provide all the needed nutrients for your skin!

The recipe that I suggest today contains only a few ingredients: coconut oil, essential oils, and baking soda. These may already be in your kitchen, but they are extremely efficient in the treatments of problematic skin. In contrast to all the over- the- counter cosmetics which contain harmful chemicals and toxins, this mixture is completely safe and effective.

This powerful mixture offers fantastic effects in the treatments of scars, acne, redness, elimination of excess dirt and oil and exfoliating dead skin off.

Baking soda, apart from its innumerate other uses, can be utilized as a deodorizing, polishing agent and a deep cleansing product in your household.

Use it instead of those dangerous and toxic purchased products. Moreover, it can be used for whitening teeth and as a deodorant, as a remedy against acne. It regulates the pH of the skin and as it is an amphoteric compound, and helps in healing breakouts.

On the other hand, coconut oil has strong healing, moisturizing and antibacterial qualities that beneficially affect the skin and nourish it, while alleviating skin issues.

Its action is gentler, and thus it regulates the harsh effect of the baking soda, so their combination is safe in the case of sensitive skin. Note that the wet-milled traditional virgin coconut oil will provide best results.

Here is the recipe:

Baking Soda and Coconut Oil Deep Cleanser

Ingredients:

Coconut oil

Baking soda

Lavender essential oil

Frankincense essential oil

Instructions:

Combine the coconut oil and the baking soda and apply their combination on the skin. You can massage the skin gently with circular motions and immediately wash it off afterwards with warm water, or you can use it as a facial mask and leave it to act for several minutes.

This miraculous mixture can provide amazing effects in a completely natural way! So, do not hesitate to try it!
